Political aspirant and Kenyan content creator Wilson Muirani Gathoni, popularly known as Jaymo Ule Msee, has apologised to Gen Z over his past political remarks while opening up about financial struggles he says were worsened by his political decisions.

In a lengthy statement shared with his followers, Jaymo admitted that he had lost his way while pursuing political ambitions, saying he had drifted from the creative work that initially made him popular among Kenyans.

He acknowledged that, in the process, he used his platform to make remarks that hurt some of the people who had supported his work.

“I lost my way. Somewhere between the opinions, arguments, ego and political hallucinations, I lost touch with the creator you welcomed into your lives,” he said.

“To Gen Z: I sincerely apologise for my insensitive remarks on 25 June 2025. I failed to give your pain and concerns the respect they deserved. I should have listened. I was wrong.”

He also apologised to other people who felt hurt by his political videos, taking responsibility for his statements and actions.

“To everyone I hurt through my political videos: I am sorry. You deserved more care from me. I own my words and choices. Forgiveness is yours to give in your own time; changing my behaviour is my responsibility,” he added.

Jaymo appeals for financial help

Beyond the apology, Jaymo revealed that he was facing financial difficulties, which he attributed partly to his political choices and personal financial decisions.

“Today, I am super broke. My political choices and financial mistakes have cost me deeply. I cannot blame politics for everything when I made decisions too,” he disclosed.

He described the difficulty of dealing with financial struggles while being recognised by the public, saying he had been privately trying to figure out how to rebuild his life.

“There is a particular silence that comes when people recognise your face, but you are privately wondering how to put your life back together.

“I have been living in that silence,” he said.

Jaymo said he was now seeking support as he worked towards rebuilding his finances and returning to content creation.

He appealed to his followers to contribute whatever they could comfortably afford to support his personal financial recovery and creative comeback.

He shared his M-Pesa Send Money number, 0721662978, and Paybill number 880100, with account number 7622820017, under the recipient name Wilson Muirani Gathoni.

However, he clarified that people who could not contribute financially could still support him by watching, sharing and encouraging his work.

Jaymo announces series comeback

As part of his return to content creation, Jaymo announced a new project titled Inside the Life of a Prodigal Creator, which will feature 20 episodes exploring his personal experiences and lessons from life away from the camera.

The series is scheduled to premiere on Monday, November 9, 2026.

“Expect drama, ridiculous situations, uncomfortable truths and the humour we find while trying to survive ourselves. Stories about what happens after the smile, after the applause, after you press ‘stop recording’,” he announced.

He said the experiences had taught him lessons about money, ego, influence and losing sight of one’s calling, which he hoped to share with young people.

Addressing those who had criticised him, Jaymo acknowledged that his apology alone would not restore their trust, promising to demonstrate change through his actions.

“To those who criticised me: I hear you. I understand that this appeal alone cannot restore your trust. Let me earn it through what I do next,” he said.

He ended his message with an appeal to his supporters to give him another chance as he attempts to rebuild his creative career.

“Your worst chapter does not have to become your whole story. I am picking up my script again. Nishikilieni nirudi. Ntawabamba videadly!”
