Former President Daniel Moi's grandson was on Thursday laid to rest in an emotional funeral at his family’s home in Rongai, Nakuru County.
Hundreds of people among them leaders from
different parts of the country and beyond gathered at Kabarak University
Graduation Square to condole with the family of former head of State.
Speakers
during the memorial service eulogised the 16-and-a half-year-old
Kiprono Ruto Moi as a God-fearing, forgiving, peaceful and loving young
person who was also the uniting factor in family.
The

different people he was interacting with.
The many
sweet names that people labelled him, to the extended family, he was a
bishop because of his spiritual dedication, to his big brother he was
little munchkin, Muhesh to his dad, Igwe to his mother and Kipikip to
his sister.
Speaking at the service, his grandfather,
former President Moi said even in his weak moments at the hospital in
South Africa, Kiprono still preached to other patients and encouraged
them.
“He preached to fellow patients in the hospital
and I am happy because I know he is resting in a better place, he has
gone to his permanent home,” said Mr Moi.
In a message

Speakers
included Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Ms Joyce Laboso,
Governors Kinuthia Mbugua (Nakuru) and his Trans Nzoia counterpart
Patrick Khaemba, former Cabinet Ministers Nicholas Biwott and Cyrus
Jirongo among others.
