Mr Christian Owusu-Perry, Director of Public Affairs at the Electoral Commission (EC), on Friday played down media reports of a fire outbreak at the IT section of the Commission.Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra, he denied that the section was razed by the fire."Let me say that it was just a spark that started in an air conditioner, but the security personnel rose to the occasion to bring the situation under control.“In fact it is not our main IT office, just a subsidiary office. Nothing serious has occurred to our property. “I must state emphatically that nobody should panic especially at the time of an impending landmark case at the Supreme Court involving the EC," he said. Mr Perry said no extensive damage was caused to either human or material things as speculated in the media.
