Opposition leader Raila Odinga has left the country for a one- week
visit to France and the United Kingdom. Raila left the country this
morning to attend a special meeting of the Emerging Markets Forum in
Paris that runs from April 11-12.
The forum will be hosted by the Governor of Banque de France and will
be attended by four EMF co-Chairs: President Alassane Ouattara,
President Horst Koehler, Michel Camdessus and Hiroshi Watanabe. The
Forum’s will focus on Striving for a Just, Prosperous and Harmonious
Global Community.
From France, Raila will travel to the UK to participate Al Jazeera TV
Head-to-Head program at the Oxford Union. This is a one-on-one
interview in a robust exchange with the host alongside a panel of other
guests focusing on upcoming elections, the 2007 post-election violence
and issues of justice, record in office and he problem of corruption,
among other issues.
Raila will return to the country at the end of the week.
